Yes, that's actually true of most psychological disorders. Higher IQ = better functioning.





However, we usually see that individuals with schizophrenia show lower IQ scores as the illness progresses in those with chronic symptoms. Schizophrenia is associated with a number of cognitive difficulties. Most don't have a very high IQ. The exception is those with only or primarily paranoid symptoms (delusions and hallucinations) and don't have negative and disorganization symptoms. Well my bio mom has schizophrenia she has a high IQ but i will tell you she has no common sense what so ever..... so yea i am adopted and this is what everyone tells me (i got taken away from her when i was 2 due to abuse and my mom being alchoholic and substance abuse)
