It's impossible to say. First, the polls are being taken NOW, and public opinion changes.





Secondly, it's hard to say which of the pollsters, if any, are able to accurately predict which potential voters will actually vote, and whether they will vote as they tell the pollsters they will.





Finally, it depends on what you consider the ';true picture of the outcome'; to be. Do you mean the official tally, or how people actually voted?





For instance, if, AGAIN, the Republicans program paperless voting machines to vote for McCain, thenwhat becomes the official tally will NOT reflect how voters actually voted.





It's also impossible to know whether the Republicans will again succeed in preventing many thousands or tens of thousands of Democrats from voting (as they have in the last two elections).





In general, polls hve done really well in predicting how people actually vote, within the margin of error (and Obama is currently ahead beyond that amount). However, things have been changing.





There's been a huge surge in young voter registrations, and young people are least likely to be contacted on landline phones (which is what polls use). So pollsters have to weight responses to try to take that into account, which involves some guesswork.





All I can say at this point is, I certainly HOPE so!

If the democrats block pulling out all the crooked votes then yes the democrats will have a win by default but it doesn';t matter to them a win is a win no matter what they have to do to get it. Go get the democrats i love to watch fights which there will be all the time because they can';t even get along with themselves. Polosi';s big mouth will always get them going. I love a circus.
Polls are fickle and the questions are twisted by certain pollsters to get certain results. I just wish more folks paid attention to the scandle of Acorn:

nope... have you ever been polled? do you know anyone who has been polled? See funny thing is most democrat like to fuss and whine about everything but when it comes time to vote - they stay at home to lazy to vote and then say ';My vote doesn't count anyways'; and I do believe the polls have been wrong almost most of the time.

I believe so. The polls are much more sophisticated than they used to be. Those dumb Republicans who keep saying the polls don't say anything are just wishful thinking.

I think the CBS 14 point Obama lead is real, one reason I think this way is I have a land line telephone and we have been polled several times, my kids have only cell phones and they have never been polled by phone, we are all voting for Obama

And to those who love to refer to the so called ';Bradley Effect';, that was decades ago, and a local election.


We are talking about the entire country here.
I don't know why, they mostly haven't. Not even mentioning the 2000 and 2004 elections, they had Adlai Stevenson elected when he lost by a landslide. Haven't gotten significantly more accurate since.

The only way to see a true outcome is tune in on November 4th after the polls have closed and see who the final winner actually is.
